This blogsite ain't all about likes and loves! KC and Richard fans (and fans of anyone connected to this movie), you might want to think twice in reading this blog entry.
Last Wednesday, Tin asked our officemates to come with her to watch a movie. I was not too keen on watching the movie (I'm not a fan of cheezy movies whose titles are cheezy of cheezy songs by sometimes cheezy artists). But I said "yes" knowing that it's by Star Cinema and I've mostly/generally liked their movies.
Before watching the movie, I prepped myself into liking it. I was enthusiastic: This was the first time in almost two months that I've seen a movie in the big screen. I was optimistic: I love Greece and the movie features it and what can go wrong if your movie is set in the charming Santorini.
Heedless to say, all my optimism flew away as soon as the trailer ended and when the movie started.
I've said this to Tracy and I'm saying it again: "Everything that can go wrong in a movie... was in the movie!" And this is not me exaggerating and being my over-malait self. Honesty is always my best policy (hehe).
The script was so bad. It was fake from the beginning and it ended just as fake as it started. The lines were too cheezy. And to people who know me, I know I hate everything that's cheezy but the movie was just so trying to be one but never delivered. KC or Richard fans: expect no kilig moments. And if I can say that to fans, non KC and Richard fans: expect torture!... all the way! There were also a lot of scenes where they tried to be funny, and like them being cheezy, they never delivered. Although kudos to Candy's comic antics, she's the only part of the movie I liked.
The acting was bad. It was bad enough that the script was bad, but add to it bad actors and you're sure to cook up a hell of a bad movie! I'm sorry, I know I have no right in "criticking" acting but I really did not like it. Fake script lines plus fake acting is just plain bad. The time I saw KC acting in one of her TV series was no different to her acting here. I never liked Richard's acting too. I'm sure they're good people but their acting just didn't work for me.
The score was bad. For the first time, I've heard one song play in the whole movie. Guess what song! "For The First Time" of course! Melancholic, romantic, instrumental, with KC singing; everything was "For The First Time." To those who plan to see it, expect a very "baduy" LSS experience right after you leave the movie house.
I'll stop commenting here as it will do no more harm to how bad the movie is however grave it may be.
Just an advise, unless you want a funny bad-movie experience and you're up for a sucky LSS, then I won't see it.
