The students of the graduating batch of Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) are showcasing their masterpieces. The exhibit features the students' designs for 4 themes: highrise/condo living, the suburbs, beach homes and the highlands. But, part of their task is to juice up ideas on creating designs that are sustainable.
All of the designs were amazing: beautiful and very creatively thought. Bravo to all of them. Seeing their work made me more interested in interior design and made me think of joining PSID.
But of course I have my favorites:

The one I thought the most sustainable is the condo kitchen. I love the dyed cement table/counter tops. You wouldn't think that cement would do a good design idea as well as it had in this kitchen. It's also a cheap alternative to the usual granite tops but it does not sacrifices the stylishness (at all!). Another cool idea was the way the designers maximized sunlight and turned the windows into a "functional" garden to which you can plant herbs (very cool idea!).
You can visit the exhibit at Eastwood City in Libis. It's just behind 7-11, right after Cybermall. You won't miss it (with the big PSID sign right outside). You should go see it. There's no entrance fee so there's no reason why you can't go. But, you need to vote (which is not a very easy task).
